Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026
Short version: OpenGymRat does not collect, transmit or sell any personal data. Everything you enter stays on your own devices, or in your own private iCloud if you turn on iCloud sync.
Data stored on your device
Workouts, plans, exercises, body weight, body measurements and progress photos are stored locally on your iPhone. Data shared with the OpenGymRat Apple Watch app and Home Screen widgets is transferred directly between your own devices and never passes through any server operated by us.
iCloud sync (optional)
If you turn on "Sync with iCloud" in Settings, your data, including progress photos, is stored in your own private iCloud database so it stays up to date on your iPhones and iPads. It is handled by Apple under your iCloud account and Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to it. Sync is off by default and can be turned off at any time; your data then stays on the device.
Apple Health
If you give permission, OpenGymRat can save workouts to Apple Health and read or write body weight. Health data is only used to provide these features inside the app. It is never used for advertising, never shared with third parties and never leaves your device except through Apple's own Health sync.
Photos
Progress photos you add are stored privately inside the app. OpenGymRat only accesses the photos you choose.
Analytics, ads and tracking
The app contains no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking SDKs. There is no account and no sign-in.
Export and deletion
You can export your data as CSV from Settings at any time. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device. If you used iCloud sync, you can also delete the synced data in the Settings app under your name → iCloud → Manage Storage → OpenGymRat.
